What Has Larry Done?


As District 4-L2 Governor in 2009-2010:

  • Grew Lions Membership in District 4-L2 over 3% during the year - Highest growth in over 20 years.
  • Chartered four new Clubs during the year: Downey, La Mirada, West Covina Diamond, and South Pasadena Royal Lions clubs.
     4 New District 4-L2 Clubs Chartered
  • Conducted Club Extension Workshops that enabled Lions in membership growth
  • Used Innovative expansion of technology to improve club and district communications.  Received international recognition as one of top three districts worldwide in Lions Clubs for adding over 40 new Club Websites.

    Over 40 new Club Websites were developed in District 4-L2
  • Expanded Lions Leadership Training.  Conducted Club Officer Training and encouraged attendance at MD4 Lions Leadership Institute - more District 4-L2 Lions attended than any other district in California.

 Lions Eyemobile Provides Needed Vision and Hearing Screening Services at any Club Community Event

    As MD4 Council Chair for California Lions 2010-2011:

  • Improved Communications and Use of Technology.  Added Council of Governor minutes and MD4 directory on MD4 Webiste.  Provided access to reports and information for Governors and MD4 Leaders on MD4 Website.  

  • Improved efficiency of MD4 Headquarters Office
  • Facilitated budgeting process to eliminate unnecessary expenses.  Fiscally conservative yet maintained compassionate outlook for those in need.  Created budget that fit current dues structure and improved dues collection process.
  • Streamlined Council of Governors Meetings to reduce cost to Governors and Lions Multiple District Operations.  Initiated Conference Calls for pre-COG planning and post-COG follow-up actions.
  • Re-initiated the MD4 Leader Quarterly Newsletter.

  • Conducted sucessful MD4 State Convention in Primm, Nevada with over 600 attendees.

               New Pediatric Playroom "Lions Den" at Whittier's Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital

  • Co-chair, Whittier Host Lions "Sight for Kids" Fundraiser in 2007

               Event raised over $70,000

  • Technology Chair - 2006-2009 - Developed and maintained Whittier Host Lions website
  • Whittier Host Lions "All Arabian Horse Show"  2000-2009

As Lions Mobile Health Screening Unit (Eyemobile) Board President 2006-2012


  • Developed Mobile Health Screening Unit website
  • Provided ability for Lions to view Eyemobile Schedule and download reservation forms on the web.
  • Collaborating with Rio Hondo Optometric Society to expand availability of volunteer optometrists to assist eye screenings.
